Be Big in a Small World

Thu Mar 12, 2009, 2:14 AM
Since i last remembered to journal about anything here, i have...
...found three perfectly fitting poems for me right now.
...had my computer completely re-installed (twice).
...been scribbling more than ever in my latest composition book.
...accidentally introduced my sister to a possible boyfriend candidate (the idea of which i am still very much trying to get used to).
...visited the college of my dreams.
...begun a villanelle.

*

The villanelle is a work in progress, and i've mentioned it here in order to sort of force myself to make sure that it does not stay that way until i forget about it entirely. i really like what i've managed to produce so far, and someday soon i want to install the completed and polished version here in my dA gallery.

For those of you out of the loop, Wikipedia does a rather decent job in the way of explanation of the technicalities and the beauty of the poem that is villanelle.

As for those personally perfect and incredibly inspirational poems i mentioned...

, by :iconinmyroom:. Implicitly perfect.

, by :iconitsxmagik:. Explicitly perfect.

, by :iconamertie:. Especially perfect.

We are all like stars, like tiny points of bright light, twinkling across a deep night sky.
And maybe some of us are planets.

*

This is a video that was first shown to me by my eighth grade Bible teacher, who happens to be one of the very best teachers i've ever had the pleasure and privilege of experiencing (and i've liked, if not loved, every teacher i've ever had).

It left something with me, enough so that when i recently rediscovered it by way of Keri/ =KnottyKeri (who found it through Katelyn/ ~danderfluffin ), i instantly recognized it and vowed to never ever lose the link again.

It is called Glosoli, by the beautifully melodic Icelandic musical group Sigur Ros (hence Icelandic lyrics).

You have beautiful talents and wise perspective in many areas. I adore your creativity, and I'm delighted you generate such a strong fan base here on dA, and probably in person, too.
Above all that, you're a caring girl with a heart for Jesus, and you love your sissy so much. :D
Keep up the good work, Lori, and keep the main objective the main objective.

well, actually, sigur ros' lyrics aren't in icelandic. It's actually a gibberish sort of fantasy language that they invented.

also, it's not my fault kerri is randomly a watcher of my page.

thirdly,
I'm glad that of all the things I've said today, the kerri thing was the one you found interest in responding to.
:iconlovelyloon:
...i'm pretty sure it's Icelandic.
:P

Oh, i never said it was your fault. i just thought it was funny that she was like so 'What the heck?' about your comment.

And. Perhaps i simply can't do everything in a day.
;P

Fine, fine. i'll go answer the note thing. Then i think i should head to bed.
