_{As you may or may not have noticed, significant chunks have gone missing from my gallery. Almost all of the oldest deviations have disappeared, as well as quite a few in the middle. Even a few of my most recent deviations appear to have vanished.

No, i am not leaving dA. And no, the rest of my gallery is not going to fall off a cliff and be gone forever.

The thing is, i've lately been looking around and realizing that my art (specifically my photography, but my writing as well) has evolved tremendously over the last year or so. Even in the last few months.

So i'm doing a bit of spring cleaning, i guess you could say, though spring won't be for months yet.

i just can't wait anymore. Every time i think about all those pictures i took so long before Photoshop and the Rule of Thirds, and even before i had a proper camera (those oldold *shudder* cell phone pictures)...well, i simply cringe inside. They seem somewhat ghastly to me.

i've wanted to do something about them for quite some time, and i even deleted a few of the worst ones some time ago (carefully saving all of the comments and views and dates and such, of course), but i have issues with things being gone forever.

So! i accidentally discovered this nifty option of 'storing' deviations. And now roughly two thirds of my deviations are simply hidden from public view and it feels WONDERFUL.

i kind of adore dA.

Some deviations i left i intend to fix up a bit more. And maaaaybe i'll put certain ones back, should enough people demand it or whatever. Not all the ones i hid were necessarily unpopular.

So. Yeah.

All your art inspires me and makes me want to be the very best artist I can be! Your art is bright like the rising sun, and it's natural. I love natural. I'm all about the 3D and digital effects, but when it comes to humans I love real life. Your images, even the ones taken with a cell phone, are art to me. I think you should hide away those that don't represent your current style. But to call them names is unacceptable.

You're awesome, Lori, and so is every single photo you've ever taken. A photo taken by you in the dark is worth more than a professional photographers favorite photo.

I hope you don't go deleting things, and I hope your photos are backed up on a real computer and not just on dA.

I meant to be asleep early tonight...but I felt I should look at your gallery for some reason... and I was a bit surprised.

I keep a log in a Google Spread Sheet of every favourite & watch I've received on dA, but with the new Message Centre, I've been keeping those in folders called 'Faves' and another called 'Watches.' Victory to Procrastination! :(

Back when I had a subscription, I tried keeping the image parts of my journal CSS as stored deviations, but it didn't work very well; I keep my web cam that way though.

I'm probably due for some more 'storaging...' as my deviations finally surpassed 300!

I think all your photography is great, honestly.

I respect your decisions though

And I'd fav your whole gallery, if I weren't a lazy bum.

... I recently turned 7 years old (in dA years), I haven't thrown a thing away and I'm not sure why... it's kinda fun to look back on the old stuff and think how far I've come since then...
